CyWatt is the advisory practice of Betty Godier, a Cybersecurity & Engineering Advisor helping organisations secure cloud, AI, and modern digital systems without slowing down innovation.

My journey in technology began long before my career — experimenting with early home computers like the Amstrad CPC 464 and Commodore, learning to build, break, and rebuild systems with curiosity. That hands-on start shaped the way I work today: close to the customer, iterative, and obsessed with designing systems that truly work in demanding environments.

From Engineering Floor to Executive Table

I began my professional path in 1997 as a Solutions Engineer, designing electromechanical and embedded systems from concept to production for industrial clients relying on 24/7 uptime. It was engineering in its purest form — solving real problems, adapting fast, and earning trust through reliability.

Since then, I have held roles as engineering director, security leader, entrepreneur, and CTO (part-time), working across:

• Cloud & digital platforms (Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365)
• Industrial and OT/IT convergence environments
• Healthcare, IoT, SaaS, and e-commerce ecosystems
• Product security and secure-by-design engineering

Across every chapter, one insight stayed constant: technology only succeeds when people trust it.

What I Do Today

As a Cybersecurity & Engineering Advisor, I help CTOs, CISOs, cloud and product leaders to:

• Strengthen cloud security architecture across Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365
• Embed product security & secure-by-design practices into engineering workflows
• Navigate AI governance, NIS2 and the EU AI Act with practical controls
• Run security maturity assessments for SOCs, platforms, and products
• Accelerate DevSecOps and engineering practices without sacrificing speed

My role is part strategist, part architect, part mentor — bridging executive priorities with engineering reality.
